Content Writer & Editor

We are looking for an enthusiastic Content Writer & Editor to support diverse functions within the company – including marketing, research, sales & business development. This position will have the primary responsibility of ensuring high quality and calibre of written material to support diverse collateral – including marketing materials, blogs, sales collateral (including proposals and presentations), research papers and the like.

The Content Writer will have direct responsibility for curating, editing and/or creating all written content for market-facing materials. The Content Writer should be a competent communications professional adept at all aspects of basic language and communicative English.

The goal of this role is to deliver effective collateral that will help reputation, growth in the long-term and perception of the brand in the short-term.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Material

  • Work with in-house teams, resources to collate base data across a wide variety of subjects
  • Create content themes and ideas
  • Understand business and market drivers in depth to have a functional understanding of its nuances
  • Translate data and insights into powerful marketing collateral – mainly in the form of brochures, capability statements and dynamic web content (eg. blogs, social media posts)
  • Participate in the process of brainstorming to develop ideas for creative marketing campaigns
  • Map competitor content strategies and ensure that Cityinfo content emerges as best-in-class
Research
  • Take ownership of a defined research calendar and ensure adherence to this calendar
  • Create methodologies and structures for data collection, interact with in-house resources to collect raw and analysed data
  • Draft research reports – long, short formats
  • Create synopsis and social media content to support research material popularity building
Sales & Business Development Support
  • Support sales teams in the development of high-impact proposals
  • Support sales teams in the creation of presentations
  • Work with sales and business development teams to address ad-hoc collateral requests (eg. case studies) to support various stages of prospect and client engagement

Educational Background

  • Educational background in English in general and Communicative English in particular
  • 1-3 years of experience in a content writing role – encompassing short-form and long-form content
  • Basic understanding of business and commercial trends with regard to language and content treatment
  • Strong expertise in the Microsoft Office suite – including MS Word and MS Powerpoint
  • Ability and proven experience in coordinating with design and web development resources
  • Working knowledge of blogging platforms and social media from a corporate communications perspective
  • Well-organized and detail oriented
  • Deadline orientation
  • Demonstrable desire to rapidly build functional knowledge of a sector and its communication requirements
